Fourth day tracking all my food. Today was a rest day. For breakfast I tried the chocolate chia pudding I linked last night. I made two different ones. One of them worked & the other one didn’t.

I made one with water & it was too runny. It was more like hot chocolate than pudding. I found another recipe & that one worked out so much better. It tasted like chocolate tapioca & it was very filling.

Recipe :
2 tbsp of chia seeds
2 tbsp of Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa powder
1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk
2 packets of Splenda

Mix everything & refrigerate overnight

Total calories 220 & 7 PP+

My first attempt at using chia seeds & I decided to make a strawberry, banana & pomegranate smoothie. I put the chia seeds in a 1/4 cup of water for 30 minutes prior to adding them to the blender.

There is no flavor to the seeds or at least I can’t detect one. Total calories for this smoothie is 367 & 6 PP+.

10 strawberries
1 small banana
2 tablespoons of pomegranate arils
1 cup of Fage Total 0% plain Greek yogurt
1 tbs of dried chia seeds

According to my schedule Monday’s are rest days.   But since I didn’t workout at all last week then I really had no reason to “rest” today so I went to the gym.

I know that I won’t always have days like these but it’s almost 9 pm & I don’t feel hungry. I feel satisfied with all that I’ve had to eat & drink all day.

Day 1 down many, many more to go.   I went to the grocery store tonight & bought some chia seeds.  I’ve had heard that it’s a super food and upon reading a couple of articles about it, I decided to try adding it to my food.  One of the benefits of it is that it helps in weight loss at least according to this site

The Chia Seed is a dieter’s dream come true. The tiny, healthy seeds can be made to taste like whatever you want, and their unique gelling action keeps you feeling full for hours. Hunger is a main enemy of real weight loss, and you don’t want to fight it with jittery expensive pills. When a chia seed is exposed to water, it forms a coating of gel, increasing its size and weight. Since the gel made of water, it has no calories. It’s also difficult to remove from the seed, meaning that it helps your body think it is full, without adding calories!

Has anyone tried them before?  I’ll be adding them to my smoothie tomorrow to try them out.
