Leaving on a jet plane...
Going on a short trip to Cancun. Really excited to go & spend time with family. Last time I was there was in 2005 & I felt like a whale. While I’m still heavy, I feel much more confident this time around. I hope to get in some great walks on the beach & my goal is to maintain while having a good time. Catch you all next week!

“It hurts to look good. It hurts to look good. I’m in pain everyday.” by Dolvett Quince Best quote from tonight’s Biggest Loser.  Did anyone watch?  I felt bad for the person who got kicked out but that’s the name of the game.

Traveling Pants
Do you ever have an article of clothing that you’ve always wanted but never found in your size or the style that you wanted? When I used to go to raves back in my late teens/early 20s, I always wanted a pair of cargo pants. All my friends had them and I could never find them in my size. As time went by and I stopped going to raves, I didn’t think of the pants anymore. About 5 or 6...

Another four bite the dust
Ever have one of those weeks when you get on the scale & can’t believe the number? You step off and get on a couple of times to make sure your eyes aren’t deceiving you?   That happened to me this morning.  My goal for the week was to lose 1.2 pounds to reach the 70 pound mark.   I lost 4.4 pounds this week.  HOLY SH*T!  That’s all I kept thinking as I got on and off the...

Fitbloggin', meeting internet friends & a 5k race...
I had a great time this weekend.  From attending my first fitbloggin’ meetup in SF to meeting up with a friend from Chicago and ending with a 5k race. A while back I heard about a local fitbloggin’ meetup in SF being hosted by Attune Foods.  I drove to SF pretty early and met up with some Bay Area bloggers.  I “knew” about 1/2 of the bloggers in attendance since I read...

fat-to-fast: PLEASE help me with a school project. In one of my nutrition classes, we’re studying effects on relationships with food, exercise, and body image. I have a survey that I need 500 responses for…eek! It would be AWESOME if I can get you all to TAKE MY SURVEY! If you do take my survey, and… Done.  Didn’t take more than 5 minutes.

You gotta rub the oil
Ever since I heard about kale chips, I’ve tried making them several times & they’ve never came out like they were supposed to. They were either too crispy (meaning burnt) or soggy of half soggy & half burnt. I was going to give up but since I really like potato chips, I wanted to find a healthy alternative. I started searching for tips and found a great post on The Chic...

Biggest Loser 12
I’ve been watching this show off & on for the past few seasons.  I like the concept but what I don’t like is the cliques that start to form and the backstabbing.  I watched today’s premiere to see if it would hold my interest & it did.  I probably will continue to watch & see how they do.  Some random thoughts: I hope that the new trainers don’t try to be like...

I had set a goal for September to work out 1,000 minutes this month.  So far, I’ve worked out 475 minutes.   That means I have 10 days to get in the rest of the 525 minutes.   I guess I better get to work.

365 Days of Weight Watchers
A year ago today I walked into Weight Watchers & started working on a better version of myself.  That morning I didn’t know that I was going to sign up to Weight Watchers or that my life was going to be changing.  I happened to be going to the mall and drove by the WW center.  I decided to join and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  This morning I weighed in and with...

This may seem like a dumb question but I am going to ask it.  Don’t judge me :) How do you walk faster?  I mean are there any techniques I should follow.  Should I speed up and then slow down or should I walk in a consistent pace?  When I first started walking, I could barely walk a block without my back hurting. I can now walk up to 5 miles but I do have to stop at times and I am...

Giants Heart Walk
I participated in the 2011 Giants Heart Walk in San Francisco.  It could not have been a nicer day.  It seems that SF is finally getting into summer.  When I signed up for this event, I was under the impression that it was going to be a 5k.  At least that was the info provided when I signed up.  It turned out to be more of a 4k. Walking underneath the Bay Bridge The event was put on my the SF...

W1D2 done.  Did 45 minutes of cardio.  I’m going to try to go to bed early tonight so I can get up at 7am to take the bus to go to my 5k in SF tomorrow.  I say early because insomnia has been with me all this week and I haven’t gone to bed at a decent time.  Getting up at noon is no fun as my day feels wasted.   Day 5 of tracking my food is a success.

fitnessyear replied to your post: Tracking Tracking does wonders and makes you realize what you’re putting into your body and how you’re working out to lose weight. And I just love how you said if you have time to play on your phone then you have time to track calories—so true! :) It does do that.  And I am paying for access to the WW app by paying a monthly fee so why am I not using it?   You...

Tracking
I’ve been tracking every morsel of food and every sip of water I have had since Sunday.  I weighed in this morning to see how I was doing.  I am down 2 pounds so far.  Happy doesn’t even describe how I felt when I saw the scale.  Tracking does work.  I found myself watching more closely what I eat because I don’t want to go over my points.  It’s helping me from overeating...

Have you heard of the Joy Fit Club?
Every so often the Today Show has people on their show who have lost over 100 pounds.  It’s really motivating to see how their hard work has paid off.  I found a YouTube playlist that has a lot of weight loss success stories. Here is the link to the playlist if you are looking for some inspiration.   And if ya’ll remember correctly, one of those success stories was Ben.  Visit...

I didn’t go to bed until 5am. It’s been a struggle to go to sleep at a decent time. Insomnia’s been a bitch. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed feeling very frustrated and anxious. I wanted to just watch TV & eat away my frustrations. Instead I worked out for 75 minutes & felt so great afterwards. I wanted to stop but I just kept pushing myself. I haven’t...
