Weigh in day & Fitbloggin' in the Bay
5.8 pounds. Yup, that’s how much I lost this past week. I had a fairly good idea of what my weigh in would be today as I got on the scale on Friday just to see how I was doing. I can’t say that I tracked or exercised much this week. I think this loss was due to stress which isn’t a good thing but I will definitely take it. I have finally lost what I gained when I went on...

I’m tired of living for tomorrow. I need to live for right now. I have debts. Yes. Will they get paid? Yes, in time. I’m not gonna have my mood defined by my financial situation any longer. I refuse to be depressed.
We should all live life this way all the time. Christmas is coming up. Maybe ask people to contribute to a NOLA fund. Just an idea…

fittingin answered your question: Should I replace my walking shoes?
NEW SHOES!!! Get fitted at a local store.
When I bought these I did get fitted so I know it’s the right shoe. I guess I need to go shopping :)

Check your tread and see how worn it is. Also you could go into a running store and see what they say as...
Should I replace my walking shoes?
I’ve had my walking shoes since the beginning of April which makes them 6 months old. I’ve noticed that the past few times I’ve used them, my feet feel numb during my walks and the sole hurts. I’m assuming that’s a sign that I should replace them. It doesn’t happen with any other type of shoe I have and the numbness/tingly feeling starts about a mile into my...

Oh yes wait a minute Mr Postman
I’ve never been so happy to see the postman show up at my house. Usually I get giddy because I am waiting for a package from Sephora but not this time. Two great things (although for varying reasons) were delivered today. 1 - I got a letter telling me that I was approved for a federal extension for unemployment benefits. I’ve been stressing out about it for the past two weeks....

Monday weigh in & dealing with rejection
My goals for the past week were to avoid diet soft drinks & alcohol, track all my food & work out 4 times this week. I achieved 1/2 of these goals. I did manage to avoid diet sodas & alcohol and I did work out 3 times this past week. Tracking I did horribly with & I know why. Who wants to track their binges? No wonder I gained 1.6 pounds this week. I think my goals for this...

It’s weird. And honestly? I really have no idea where to start. How do I explain the last 3 weeks of my life? 16 other people in this world can relate, but to a reader at their computer, or my family and friends? I don’t know. I’ve seen some of the most extreme poverty of my life recently,…

Grape Stomp 5k
Today I got up at 5:45am & drove to Livermore to participate in the 8th Annual Grape Stomp Half Marathon/10k/5k race. My goal was to improve my 5k time from my previous timed race. I have no idea what my time was. I didn’t use my Runkeeper to track the time because I had no signal but once the race results are posted I will let you see if I beat my time. I was bummed because even...

My brother posted a few days ago about someone wanting to get healthy and how to start. I think that one of the hardest things to realize and understand is that it is a LONG and SLOW process. We want instant. Everything else in our lives is instant, so we expect this to be a fast process as well….

How I deal
You can’t change your situation, the only thing you can change is how you chose to deal with it.
I read this quote yesterday and I agree with it. However, this is how I felt this morning.
I feel like crying. Maybe I should just let myself. I had a phone interview today with the hiring manager in what seemed to be a great opportunity & the recruiter called me back & told me that I...

Where am I going?
I am going to the gym. Ta-da!
The last time I went to an actual gym was when I was in high school. My parents, sister & I had a family membership. Even for a while I had a personal trainer but it wasn’t a priority at that time. My mom is still a member of that gym...

Congratulations Ben! So exciting to witness one of your dreams come true. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. You deserve it!
In 10th grade, my friend asked me to write an article for the school newspaper. Not having anything else to do (some things never change) I took him up on his offer.

Decisions
We make decisions every day. Some of them are really important (what do I want to do with my life) and some aren’t as important (I think I will my black Chucks today). But life is based on the decisions you make and that’s what shapes your days, weeks, months, etc. I made the conscious decision to cut loose a bit while in Mexico & it’s been hard to make the decision to...
